Hello Friends, recently while searching on the internet i came across this thing called as Borland Turbo Pascal 7.0 which is an IDE cum Compiler for running and compiling Pascal language.pas files, Although pascal is taken to be one of the dead programming languages, Pascal is still used widely for education purposes due to its similarities with C and easier to understand programming structures and flows. Hi, the cursor seems to be stuck on the DosBox window and cannot move, say, to the tutorial window to follow along. I am using Windows7.

Also, if I highlight a text field in one of the tutorial windows, and copy that text to the clipboard, then I cannot paste into the DosBox TP7 window. Is there a way of doing this?BTW, I found a work-around for the first issue: hit shift+ctrl+esc and the cursor will be free and the DosBox will resize to a smaller window which is no longer re-sizable. Must be a better way. I made some Turbo Pascal programs for more than 10 years ago. Recently my 64 bits HP workstation was upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, but the old programs do not run anymore because of compatibility problems. Now i have installed the Turbo Pascal 7 for Windows 7. From the fullscreen editor it can run and compile the old source files, but when trying to run the generated exe-files directly, there is still compatibility problems. Right-click on the files and select Windos 7 compatibility do not help.

The settings still seems to be for Windows XP (Service Pack 2).How can this problem be solved?. OH WAIT.found them.in some C:UsersMAINAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram FilesTPWORK who on earth would go to that location to search for his compiled programs.to find where tp7 is hiding your stuff guys, just search for them in the search dialogue box for the entire drive C.apparently mine were hidden in an underground directory for virtual files in-case of some kind of nuclear fallout.XDand pascal is really cool, easier than C,and im using it to make commercial softwares.so much for ‘outdated’. Thank you so much. I learned TP 30 years ago. Had version 2,3,4,5,6,7.

Also programmed microcontroller 8051 with pascal. Now when I installed it, I could start writing code, just like I did then. As if no time have passed.

Such a weird feeling. The old TP feels good, and it is so easy to structure and read. And the installer! Wooosh and the program is installed and everything is ready. Those days I sat with my 5,25″ floppy drive and waited. It´s fun to get old, mixed with a little sadness.Keep up the spirit and thanks again. Dear Bo!It depends on the Hardware of Your Computer!I use HP Computers and Acer from 2007, even LG works. You need to check your Computer before You purchaseIt with Color Mathematics Files.Since Windows XP has been heavily attacked by VirusesMicrosoft had to change its Hardware completely!Get an old Computer dated 2007 or a few years beforethat date, try Amazon USA.Once You succeed, a Market of 250000 ComputersIs waiting to run Colo Mathematics, this includesIndia and China!Keep up the Good WorkErwin GelberColor Mathematics. Hi, I used your download, but after each start of a program using the unit crt the mouse will not accept any more click results.

Only movement is possible. I had the same problem with the original BP 7.0 what seems to be much the same as your Pascal for Windows, but you have DosBox integrated into the system.Another question, if you can help me with the more important one. I want to have a seperate data directory on another drive, how can I tell Pascal to use it. The DosBox config shows my additions with all the mounts of different drives but does not seem to be used. I need some help if it’s possible. I downloaded the TP7 for Windows 8 32bit-64bit, installed it and tried to use it.

It open’s, But when i’m finish with a Program i press Compile (it works), then PRess Run(it works) only 1 up to 3 times, after that i can’t use any other menu. Or if i run it once and i modify the program the same error. TP isn’t responding anymore, and I have to close it entirely and open it again and rewrite the program. Otherwise it’s ok, it save’s even the programs and find them anytime, but it’s annoying to exit and start it over and over again.

Could you please help me? 🙂 Thank you. Getting ready to download TP. Worked on Delphi 1 briefly way back that’s all.

Pascal

I’m on win 7 32.My apps will be memory maintenance oriented. I’m interested in creating my own service procedures and making calls to Win 7 API without problems. I’ll be queriying Win 7’s memory classes to create my own “taskkill” so that I can clobber truant “stopped” processes and other memory release issues. Most of this will be string searches and reads from CSV files I create on the fly, or, alternately instead of files, to arrays. So TP needs to up to date on Win 7 down to the intricate details of it’s operation. Do you foresee problems before I download? Thanks.

What the fuck?! It’s 2018, guys!

Turbo Pascal is a dead product and nobody uses it in software industry today. No wonder it no longer works on modern operating systems.

Turbo Pascal should be put in a software museum. Why are you stilll bother using it?Don’t take me wrong, I’m a huge Pascal fan. But, please don’t use Turbo Pascal no more! Use the modern Pascal compilers instead. We got Free Pascal, Delphi, Oxygene, and Smart Pascal. All of these modern Pascal compilers works on most modern operating systems available today out of the box.

I recommend you all to use FreePascal since it’s the only modern Pascal that is free and open source. And for the editor, please use modern graphical IDEs as well. We got Lazarus IDE (official GUI IDE for FreePascal which is also free and open source) and the other come with its own modern IDE as well that have all modern code editing features like drag-n-drop form designer, code completion, code formatter, code template, visual debugger, etc. They cover everything you need to write modern Pascal programs. You could also use any popular modern editors today to write Pascal programs. You may use VS Code, SublimeText, Notepad, Eclipse, etc or even XCode on Macs. Though they don’t support Pascal by default like the dedicated Pascal IDEs, making them to work with Pascal is not hard either because there are some Pascal plugins and libraries for each of those editors.

So, we already got plenty of options to write modern Pascal programs today. And with modern Pascal, we could not only write old-fashion console programs, but we could write any kind of modern programs you can imagine, such as games, web app, android app, ios apps, desktop apps, web service, etc. We could even write JavaScript app using Pascal code! Your skill is the only limit. So, please don’t make Pascal language looks so bad as if it stuck with Turbo Pascal forever. That’s one of the reason why most people avoid Pascal, because they think Pascal is equal to the old Turbo Pascal. And you guys help making those wrong image stick!.
